For more than 40 years, Frontier Wilderness Campground has been a summer home for families exploring Door County. Tucked into 40 wooded acres just two miles from Egg Harbor, it’s close to everything the peninsula is known for — state parks, lakes, rivers, golf, and shoreline villages — while still feeling like a world away.
In 2003, Jeri, Orv, and Todd Rasmussen took over the campground from Ray and Carla Kempen and set about modernizing the grounds while holding onto the clean, friendly feel that keeps guests coming back. Todd became the sole owner in 2009, married Cara in 2015, and today they run Frontier alongside their three kids — Chase, Cooper, and Skylar.
Our goal is simple: create a family camping experience for everyone to enjoy. Relax by the fire, float in the pool, or let us help you plan a day out across Door County. Whether it’s your first visit or your fifteenth, you’ll always be camping among friends.
